Privacy Policy

The short version: this site does not collect personal data, does not use advertising or analytics trackers, and does not send anything you type or do to a server.

1. What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. Clay & Kiln is a set of static HTML files. It has no user accounts, no login, no comment system and no server-side database.

  • No names, email addresses or contact details are stored, because there is no backend to store them in.
  • The contact form validates your input in your browser and then stops. It does not transmit.
  • The newsletter field in the footer is a demonstration. It validates an address locally and clears itself; nothing is sent anywhere.

2. Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to localStorage or sessionStorage. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

3. Analytics

There is no analytics of any kind — no page-view counters, no heat maps, no session recording, no third-party measurement scripts.

4. Third parties

There are none. Every asset — stylesheets, scripts, illustrations and the 3D libraries used by the studio simulators — is served from this site's own domain. No fonts, scripts or images are requested from external services, so no third party sees your visit.

5. The 3D simulators

The four tools in the 3D Studio run entirely in your browser using WebGL and the Canvas API. Geometry is generated procedurally, textures are drawn to an in-memory canvas, and nothing is uploaded. If you export a PNG from the Glaze Painter, that file is created locally and saved by your own browser — it never passes through a server.

6. Hosting and server logs

Whoever hosts this site may keep standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp). That is a property of HTTP hosting, not of this site's code, and it is outside our control. Check with your host if that matters to you.

7. Children

This site is a technical reference aimed at adults working with kilns, power tools and glaze chemistry. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

8. External links

Some pages link to manufacturers' documentation or to reference material elsewhere. Once you follow an external link you are on someone else's site, and their privacy policy applies, not this one.

9. Your rights

Because no personal data is collected or stored, there is nothing to access, correct, export or erase. If you have written to us by email, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

If the site ever begins collecting data — for example by adding analytics — this page will be updated before that change takes effect, and the date at the top will change.

11. Safety is a separate matter
